Ducati’s homologation racebike for the road…
Quite a statement, but then the 998R is quite a bike. Powered by the second generation of the famed ‘Testastretta’ engine, bolted into the famed trellis frame and not forgetting the single-sided swingarm, all come together to create what is the pinnacle of the 916-generation’s evolution.
This limited-production road racer is No.175 of only 700 examples worldwide, first registered in April 2002 and having covered only 7,847 miles from new (the equivalent of only 435 miles per annum), its condition is fantastic both cosmetically and mechanically.
Its last service (carried out in April 2018 at 7,840 miles) included a belt and fluids change, and has only covered an additional 7 miles since.
The 998R’s iconic red bodywork in all carbon fibre, to further reduce weight, and its trademark underseat Termignoni exhausts complete what is one of the most desirable and rare motorcycles from Ducati.
Supplied with 2 keys, book pack and a rear paddock stand, this bike is available today and would be a fantastic addition to any motorbike collection.
